Principal's Post

Dear Families,
This is the image for the news article titled Dear Families,

Happy Groundhog Day!  I don’t know about you, but I am crossing my fingers that Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t cast a shadow so that this brutally cold weather will end! I guess no matter what happens, it will be okay.  We have plenty going on at Mansion Avenue School to keep us busy.

We are very excited that our Beginning Band rehearsals have started.  Students have been working hard in their lessons throughout the fall and now are ready to begin playing together as a whole ensemble.  We cannot wait to hear the wonderful music they will make at our spring concert in a few short months.

The 6th grade FUNtacular event is scheduled for Friday evening, February 8th at 7:00 pm in the high school main gym.  For a small fee, you can join us in cheering on our 6th graders in a variety of events.  There will be concessions for sale, as well as tickets for a drawing to throw a pie in the face of a couple of “celebrities.”  We hope you will join us for the fun!

Parents of Fifth Grade students, you will hear more about the opportunity for your child to participate in the Fifth Grade Historical Play.  We encourage all students to join this fun activity!

We were able to reschedule the school wide assembly, courtesy of the PTA, for February 20th.  We are looking forward to having Patrick Gardner back with us as Archimedes.

Please mark your calendars and join us in celebrating Grandparent’s Week from March 4th through the 7th.  We invite all grandparents to join us at 9:15 am and visit classrooms on the following schedule:

          March 4     Grade 6                 March 6     Grade 4

          March 5     Grade 5                 March 7     Grade 3

Stay warm this February and dream of those daffodils!
