Principal's Post

Dear Families,
This is the image for the news article titled Dear Families,

Happy New Year!   I wish you an amazing 2019.

With the New Year, Mother Nature has brought us some cold weather.  We follow some guidelines at Mansion Avenue School with regard to outside activities at this time of the year.  If it is 32 degrees or warmer with no precipitation, students line up outside in the morning and go outside for recess at lunch.  Please be sure to send your child to school with long pants and a winter coat (gloves and a hat would be great, too) so we are sure he/she is dressed properly for the weather.  We like to provide the opportunity for students to play when dressed warmly.  Students will go outside in the same cold weather gear that they wear to school.

Speaking of weather, it is important for you to know our school closing information just in case we get some snow.  The school district broadcasts school delay or closing information through an automated phone call and email, and the information will be posted on the district website.

Our annual pajama drive is going on right now!  You will help someone in need by sending in a brand new pair of pj’s (any size, style, color) to your child’s homeroom teacher or to the main office.  If the pj’s are on a hanger please keep them on the hanger when you send them.  We will continue to take donations until the end of January.  To get more information about the Pajama Program you may visit  Thank you!

Progress reports for the second trimester will be issued online in the parent portal on January 24th.  As always, I invite you to contact your child’s teacher directly with questions or concerns at any time throughout the school year.

Happy January!
