6th Grade Cap MuralThis project was completed by the 6th grade Class of 2017.

To create this mural, Mansion Avenue School collected more than 30,000 caps and lids from recyclable materials.  So often, these caps end up in a trash pile somewhere, so the sixth grade decided to upcycle these plastic and metal lids and make them into a beautiful mural.

This project took approximately 7 months from start to finish.  The process included collecting, counting, sorting by color, planning, designing, building, and revising the cap mural.  The mountain lion design was a combination of the ideas of two students.  While collecting caps was aided by the entire sixth grade and Student Council, the building of the cap mural itself was completed by the Cap Mural Club.
